For decades, Rock Creek Restaurant has been a favorite gathering place in Twin Falls for hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, house-made favorites, and a relaxed dining experience that feels both familiar and special.
Founded in 1978 by Terry Hancock and Stan Thomas, Rock Creek was built around a simple idea: start with quality ingredients, prepare them well, and give guests a place they’ll want to return to.
On July 31, 2025, Rock Creek Restaurant welcomed new owners, Dave and Eliza Hansen. Dave and Eliza aren't newcomers to the area — they've called the Magic Valley home their entire lives, and that local roots run deep in how they're approaching this next chapter.
Our Story
Rock Creek Restaurant entered an exciting new chapter on July 31, 2025, when Dave and Eliza Hansen took ownership of the restaurant. Lifelong Magic Valley residents, Dave and Eliza have a strong connection to the community and a clear vision for Rock Creek’s future: to remain a true community staple while offering exceptional, high-quality food at extremely reasonable prices. Their goal is to create a place where locals can continue to gather, enjoy a great meal and feel that they’re getting outstanding value every time they visit.
The restaurant’s story began with Terry Hancock and Stan Thomas, whose careers in the restaurant industry started at the Pioneer Saloon in the early 1970s. After spending much of the decade helping manage the restaurant, Stan headed to Santa Barbara, California, in 1976 to build and manage Jasper’s Saloon.
Two years later, Terry and Stan returned to Idaho and brought their experience and vision to Twin Falls, where they built and opened Rock Creek Restaurant.
From the very beginning, Terry and Stan were committed to creating an exceptional dining experience centered around quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation and attention to detail. Those values became the foundation of Rock Creek and remain an important part of its story as Dave and Eliza carry the restaurant into its next chapter — keeping Rock Creek a community favorite while making high-quality dining accessible at a price that keeps people coming back.
Quality You Can Taste
Rock Creek has always taken pride in doing things the right way.
Our steaks are cut in-house and selected according to Beef Backer guidelines, using prime or high-grade beef. Fresh fish is flown in twice a week, and many of the details that make a meal memorable are prepared right here in our kitchen.
From house-made salad dressings to desserts made from scratch, quality has been part of the Rock Creek experience from the beginning. With a salad bar made for you to enjoy for free with every entree.
